I just want to say that I have 2 girls, a 1-1/2-year-old and a 3-year-old and both have slept 14 hours through the night since they were 3 months old. When they were about 4 months old, I would leave a bottle on the side of their crib even though many people say it is not good to put babies to bed with a bottle but it did work for me. When they got hungry, they would find their bottle and go back to sleep. They did cry the first couple of days and then after that they would just automatically wake up without crying and drink their bottle. What I do now that they are older is I put my 1-year-old baby to bed with a spill-proof sippy cup full of milk and my 3-year-old with a sippy cup of juice with mostly water. I also told my friends about this and it worked for their kids. When they were babies, I would feed them before they went to bed a bottle with about 5 ounces of formula or milk (depending if they could already drink milk), 4 tablespoons of Beachnut oatmeal cereal, and 1/2 jar of baby fruit (my babies loved chiquita bananas by Beachnut). I would put everything in the bottle, and squeeze the nipple end while I shook the bottle vigorously. Because the liquid is a little thick, I would make an X on the nipple with a pair of scissors, not too small or too big, just so that the baby could suck out the liquid without a problem. The stores sell nipples with an X but the X is too small. I would fix them up a bottle like this to keep on the side of the crib for them to wake up to. If the baby does not know how to find the bottle yet (they eventually learn) or hold a bottle yet, I would feed it to them, burp them, and they would go back to bed. If not, I would prop up the bottle with a small pillow or blanket and they would fall asleep right after and once they learned how to hold a bottle they would just wake up to it and feed themselves. When they would wake up in the morning which was late, I would give them another bottle like this but use a different fruit this time like applesauce. The rest of the day I would feed them solids that I would cook, smashed up. Hope this helps.

Okay, here is my problem. Since about 3 mos. my son has been sleeping through the night wonderfully. Up until just a few days ago he would sleep close to ten hours straight. But just recently he has started to wake up a couple times at night crying. I have tried to let it go, and just go in and comfort him every once in awhile, but it doesn't work. He ends up crying so hard he starts to choke. So of course I pick him up, and then he decides he is hungry. I don't know what to do, any ideas?
