Two things are at work here. 1) He's learning to move and you're nervous about it. It's understandable given how much doctors and nurses slam the SIDS risk into our heads. So long as your guy can hold his head up really well, I wouldn't concern yourself how he sleeps. I'm sure he's plenty strong if he's starting to roll over. Just make sure there's not a lot of loose bedding in the crib. 2) He's 5 1/2 months old. Between 4-6 months old a baby's sleep pattern changes. I havent' heard a good explanation about why, but it's nearly universal so far as I know. My girl slept well until she was about 4 months old and then turned into a terror, waking up 3-4 times a night. The best explanation I have is that the child isn't an infant anymore and isn't sleeping like one anymore. The only advice I have if it's this is to make sure you don't try every possible solution at once. You could end up causing problems you have to fix later.
