I tried something I learned about a few weeks ago and it is working so I thought I would share it with the rest of you in case you want to try it. Some background. My son is 9 months now, at 2 months he began sleeping through the night. Then at 5 months he stopped and began getting up 2-3 times each night. I tried several things and they didn't work. I finally just stopped feeding him cereal close to bedtime and that did work, for a little while. Then a few weeks after trying this he began to start waking up again. Not every night but at least 4 nights a week. This last time I took my baby to the doctor for his check-up the doctor had an emergency and wa running a little over an hour late. I began talking to another mom in the waiting room and we talked about the sleep issue. She swore up and down about some book called BabyWise (I had never heard of it). Anyway, she explained to me the schedule she put her daughter on and that she immediately began sleeping through the night and taking naps. I tried the schedule the very next day. Jonathan woke up the first two night on it but only once. It has been 3 weeks now and except for the first two nights, he has slept through the night every night! He goes to bed at 9 pm and gets up about 7:30 to 8 am. Here is the schedule: breakfast 8:30 am this includes baby food and 30 minutes after eating baby food a bottle. lunch 12:30 pm 2-3 jars of baby food then bottle 30 minutes later dinner 5:30 pm 2 jars baby food then bottle 30 minutes later final bottle 8:30 pm Basically she said it didn't matter what you fed them at each sitting, but the times were important. So you might try it and see if it helps. I still haven't bought the book but I will. She said the book said you could start a schedule at 8 weeks and it would work. It gives schedules for various ages I suppose.
