I am 6 months pregnant with a girl & have a 19 1/2 month old daughter. Over the past several months, I've been explaining that there is a baby in my tummy & that it will get bigger & bigger & one day come out & that we'll have a baby. She's a little young to understand the concept, but points at my tummy & says "baby". Of course, everyone else has a baby in their tummy too. She is very fascinated with infants, but gets pretty nervous when they cry. My husband & I have bought her a baby doll that we plan to give her shortly before the baby is born. That way, she'll have a baby to take care of while I'm busy with the new baby (I'm going to nurse as well). We're hoping that the toy will help somewhat with the transition.
