: : My seven month old must be the world's crappiest sleeper. He goes down for the night at around 8 PM, wakes at 11 for a bottle. He will eat no more than 2-3 oz because he is sleepy and then he wakes an hour later again, and again and again. I don't know if I should give him the rest of the bottle, or nurse him or just soothe him back to sleep. He will eat another ounce and then push the bottle away and then go back to sleep only to wake up screaming another hour or two later. This goes on 3-4 times every night. (Last night he was up 5 times) I have tried to let him cry it out but it is NOT working. Help, I'm losing my sanity.

: : During the day he is a perfect angel - a happy, healthy baby that gets hungry once every 3-4 hours.

: : Added to my problems is the fact that hubby is of no help at night (except weekends). He has a very stressful job and says that the least he needs is sleep at night. I think I am going to fall sick from sleep deprivation soon.

: I know this may sound silly but have you tried a passie? I'm only asking because I know some babies don't take them on a regular basis. But wondered if you had tried it at nigtht?Trinity wakes up every once in a while if she loses her passie or blankie in her sleep. We just stick it in her mouth or hand her her blankie and sometime we have to pat her butt for a few seconds but she goes right back to sleep. I guess those are her security items! She usually takes her last bottle around 7:30 or 8:00 and sleeps a full 12 hours before eating again. And when she's awake..she has to be drinking a bottle or eating her food, or drinking juice every 3 to 3 1/2 hours until she goes to sleep. She's a HUNGRY girl! So I'm thinking your baby probably doesn't need that last bottle in the middle of the night if he's eating all day long too. Maybe he just wants to suck on something. I'm not real sure...I wish I had some great advice. I know someone mentioned ceral....that use to help Trinity sleep. Also, what really does it now is the Johnson's Baby Lavender Wash. I swear I posted before because It started freaking me out how sleepy it made her. Maybe you could feed him a little cereal then give him a bath in that and try a passie to suck on if you havent' already tried that. I feel for you though Marie. I really do. If I ever come across anything that you haven't already tried...I'll let you know. Good Luck

Hi Kelly,

Thanks for the suggestions. My little devil does not take a pacifier. He arches his back and screams if I give him one at night. If he is in a good mood, he chews on it. I will certainly try the Johnson's Lavender wash. I'll go out and buy one tonight.
