My angel has turned into a screaming monster

My seven and a half month old has started using screaming as his only weapon. He wants me around ALL the time. If I set him down to go to the bathroom, he screams. If I turn my back on him to answer the phone, he screams. If he doesn't want to eat, he screams. When I put him down in his crib, he screams. If I eat lunch he screams. What is with the screaming? If I pass him to anyone, even his dad, he screams. Its like he wants me to be stuck to him like glue. He was never like this before. And when he screams, you could turn deaf. I have got NO work done around the house for the past few days. And I have a headache from his screaming. Not to mention that it is driving my older child nuts too.
