: My 15mth old DD woke up last night around 10:30pm and I went in to check on her and she was covered in blood from a nosebleed. Do you think she just hit her nose and it started to bleed?? I went in right away.. . a couple months ago she had the same thing happen, I have never seen her with her fingers in her nose, But I do not rule that out as the cause. Just hoping someone may shed some light on this.It was one of the scariest moments in my life,to walk in and see all that blood on her. Thanks for any responses.....from Melinda

My brother has suffered from chronic nosebleeds all of his life. They used to be so bad when he was a kid he would have to stand at the sink because it bled so much. It would take hours to stop the bleeding. He also would get them in his sleep. The doctors at the time, in the 70's, had my mother feed him knox gelatine. For the vitamin K, which helps clotting. I don't think they recommend that anymore, I don't know if the even make it anymore. This has plauged him into adulthood and just recently he had several week veins in his nose cauterized. Steam from a vaporizer always seemed to help him a little. They seemed worse in the winter when the house was dry. Good luck to you, I hope she outgrows it. It's really a nusience.
