I too have been hiding it from my parents for a long time who have a great marriage also and are very supportive. Today, my mother called me and I sounded like I was crying. She finally dug it out of me and I told her that I was sorry for hiding it for so long but that my husband is not what every one thinks he is and I never said anything because I didn't want anyone to hate him. She was very understanding and said that I should have gotten a bat or something and self defended myself. I told my husband a little while ago that it was over, he just kept saying he was sorry and that he would change which is what he has always said also and never would. He hasn't left the house yet. This is still a little fresh. I am worried just like you were about how my kids will take it but like I told you, they will adjust and so will I. I guess there a lot of people out there that are going through what we are.
