: Hello, Steroid creams or lotions cause more harm to the skin because they eat away at the skin's epidermis. For excema sufferors, your skin is severely dehydrated and needs the moisture replenished. Wisdom is to treat the whole problem: internal, external, and foreign. In other words, build up the immune system, moisturize the skin, and identify the allergens. My family found healing because we treated the whole; as opposed to the doctors, who only addressed the symptom, causing either more harm or temporary relief. Because I know that people just want the quick fix, I will simplify my response just to provide you with the knowledge of what lotion worked for us. Burt's Bees Baby Bee Buttermilk Lotion (for sensitive skin of all ages) healed my niece's severe excema breakout (total body) in two weeks. It is a natural product containing aloe, vitamin E, and buttermilk. You can purchase it at 'Whole Food's' grocery store for about $8.00-$12.00. At two years old now, my niece is still excema free and the lotion is a daily part of our cleansing regimen. For excema sufferors, the skin is dehydrated and needs replenishing; thus the need to treat the internal as well as the external because one plays off of the other. Therefore, by treating the deficiency that caused the excema, you actually heal the skin of the disease. So, understand that when your resistance is low, the skin is dehydrated, the moisture barrier (protector) is depleted, and now things that don't bother others give you an allergic reaction. I know I said that I would just give the short answer, but just to provide knowledge without any wisdom or understanding of the skin and what it needs is the reason why there is so much fruststration. Be proactive and work with the skin and not against it. That's where the healing is. And, drink water!!!
