I used to be able to lay my DD down and she'd go right to sleep on her own at about 5 1/2 to 7 months. She's now almost 10 months and has to be rocked to sleep every nightfor the past 2 months. Then sometimes if I put her in there when she's not "sound asleep" she starts screaming when she opens her eyes. Tonight this happend and of course the first time I got her out and rocked her. Well...she was almost asleep so I laid her in her bed.....and she screamed bloody murder. :( It was sooooo sad...but I let her cry for about 10 minutes and she went to sleep on her own! I've never believed in crying it out because I felt like she didn't understand why I was doing it and worried she'd think I was abandoning her. I'm so proud of her and myself tonight! I can't believe I let her cry and she really went to sleep after about 10 minutes!! It was the hardest thing ever but I finally did it! Does this mean she'll start going to bed on her own again shortly if I continue to do this? The only reason I decided to do it was from reading everyone's posts on here. Thanks to all of you!! :)Now I can do my laundry and go to bed myself!!!
