: I've noticed in the last several weeks that my son
: has rough patches with tiny little bumps on his legs and arms. These dry patches are not really red unless I start touching them and they do not seem to itch or bother him.
: Does this sound like excema? He will be going for his 1 year check-up in a couple of weeks but I am not sure if I should bring him in sooner.

Hi Nicole,

I don't think it is excema. Usually excema causes itching and redness with bumps that look like rash. I can't tell much without looking at them but from what you tell me it sounds to me more like dry skin. Have you tried any of the Aveeno lotions? Also, if this is on the side of his arms and inner legs or thighs, it could be a combination of dryness and also not being scrubbed enough while bathing which causes dirt and oils to clog the pores.

Hope this is helpful.
