Can't answer from personal experience, but they say it gets better after a couple weeks and there is cream like someone else said to help.

Personally, I would wait a little bit longer. However, I know some people who are out shopping with their baby the instant their released from the hospital. This question is a touchy subject for me. I can't stand it when someone says you need to expose your baby to germs or they'll never get immune. Well, newborns immune systems aren't fully developed and may not be able to fight off some germs, so if they caught something they couldn't fight, they could end up in the hospital or worse. Healthy or not. And I've seen this happen to the healthiest of kids. My dd case is different, but we weren't allowed to leave the house for 2 months, due to prematurity and RSV season. And I still had people telling me I needed to expose her to germs. Ha, I don't think so. I know parenting doesn't come with a book, but I just don't understand some peoples thinking. Just use common sense. Like Robin said, handwashing is the key to stopping the spread of germs. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest and venting.

They sure do grow up fast. I wanted mine to be a newborn forever until she was 1. This is a great age, so many new things happening each day.
