Hi all, Like Lori, I too was wondering how people could get IP addresses from these messages since this board doesn't show them. After reading about the "view source" trick, I was intrigued and tried it. Alas, it didn't work for me, for whatever reason, but I do have a theory on the IP mixup. A lot of people use firewalls on their computers. What a firewall does, essentially, is masks someone's IP so that it can't be hacked - it does this by assigning a dummy IP address, and publishing that on the internet. So when it seems two people have the same IP, it doesn't necessarily mean they are the same person, it could be that they are just using the same firewall. For example, everyone who uses Zone Alarm as their firewall (and millions internet users do because it's free), they could all conceivably have the same IP. Others who use firewall/routers could likewise have the same IP if they bought it from netgear or linksys or some other major manufacturer. So... I'd like to test this theory. I am the one who posted the message labeled Test. If someone would kindly check the IP on that message, and then compare it to the IP of this message, we can verify that these are the same IP. I'm sent the "test" message from one PC that has a dialup connection but uses Zone Alarm. And this message I am sending from my High speed connection, that also uses zone alarm. Two different computers with two completely different connections, but using the same firewall manufacturer. If you wouldn't mind, please post the IP for each. I'm really curious if my theory is right.
