I wouldn't worry yet. My daughter is also 14 months so I spend a lot of time observing other kids her own age to compare development. There is such a variety at this age. My daughter, Jayda, knows and uses about 50 words and has started putting words together "Hi daddy!", "big ball", "pink bear", etc. while the little girl I look after a few times a month has not spoken a word yet and is 15 months. My closest friend has a little girl (also 14 months) who uses about 20 words, while her son didn't speak his first word until after his second birthday (he is three now and doesn't shut up!!!) Just like the other milestones, talking will come when they are ready, and at 14 months it really is too soon to be concerned about it!
