diaper rash

Help! My daughter has had a bit of diarrea for a few days now, and it is causing quite a rash. I think I made it worse by using baby wipes, it is now quite red and it looks like there are also a few open sores. I have been putting vasaline on her inbetween changes, and I have been putting her in the bathtub and using a spray bottle of water to clean her off and then patting her dry, but it seems to be getting worse, not better! I have looked all over for advice on this, but only seem to find info on the typical mild diaper rash. Any suggestions?
