I smacked my sons hand when he was going for the electrical outlet. He has learnt to take out the safety plugs.... anyway, he definitly learnt the WRONG thing... he still goes for the electrical plug and he has mimicked me and smacked my hand when I've done something HE doesn't like. Needless to say, I have never smacked him since. Repetativeness is the way to go.. frustrating at times but works better for me. Good luck on whatever you choose
