: Hi everyone. I have an 18-month-old son and he never makes a sound when his diaper needs to be changed. If I don't check him or smell anything, I really think he would stay in a dirty diaper all day and never make a fuss. I also babysit my neighbor's 16-month-old son once or twice a week. He is the exact opposite. Once he goes, he will start fussing and whimpering. He doesn't have to go that much for him to start. My question is how often should I be changing my son's diaper? Obviously I am going to change the neighbor's boy because he isn't comfortable, but my son never has a problem with it. Do I need to continuously check my son's diaper or is it ok to let it go for a while, as long as he's not complaining? Thanks. My 13 month old is the same she don't let me know when shes pooed. So i have to check every so often. twice i was out and she pooed and i never knew intill i got home, and she ended up with a nasty rash it also bled.

If i was you id check him and change him soon as he does one, if you leave him he might get a rash.
good luck
