: My best friend has 2 kids aged 3 and 12 months.

: Yesterday she rang me saying shes got to take her youngest to hospital because shes got a infection in her hand. Well it turns out her daughter has herpes in her hand!! The hospital banaged it up and gave her strong antibiotoics. Now im worried about my own kids playing with her child as the herpes viurs can spreed to person to person on a flare up.
: Also her 3 yr old has breaks out now and again all over his face she told me its ecema, Which can't be true as her daughter caught it from him.

: My friend when she was pregnant with her son she caught something on her skin, all through her pregnancy her whole body would break out in theses sores then they would scab, each time they broke out my friend had to go and get wrapped up like a mummy in bandges... Again she told me it was ecema, the hospital even adviced her not to have more children intill they got the break outs under control.
: Now im wondering if she actually had the viurs and passed it on to her kids....

: Do you think i should keep my kids away from hers for a while?
: My mum also said if one of mine has a cut etc put a plaser on it when i visit her, and if ever one of her kids bites mine and breaks the skin put some kind of sprit on it to stop any infection going in the blood stream...

: I thought herpes was a mouth and gental thing.

: anys thanks for any advice

You can get your kids tested for this to clear your mind. Also as long as the virus is covered up. There should be no contamination. For information even a those cold blisters on a mouth are herpies. Just a different kind this may be what they are dealing with and is common.
