I actually believe that many of those who have children with Down's syndrome who did not have proper prenatal care are in denial. I was doing cocaine and speed during my pregnancy and my doctor did inform me that was what caused my 6 year old daughter Down's syndrome. The doctor did many tests and found my drug abuse to be the cause. He did mention that even healthy persons could have a child born with that condition but that improper prenatal care does pose a risk.
