My daughter was badly constipated as well. What I did at first was put mineral oil in her formula(per doctors orders) and lubricated a thermometer and inserted it in her rectum
(per doctors orders as well). Then I thought that this was a little harsh, so i researched it and found that babies have enough iron in there system from me until she is 4 months old that she did not need the additional iron. So I switched to low iron formula. Now I asked the ped if this was ok to do and he said she would be fine as long as i switched her back by 4 months of age. I did this and it helped greatly. Now it is up to you but this is what i did with my daughter,
