Hi Nicole! My son is 20 months and doesn't consistently use his spoon. He can easily put the food in his mouth once it is on the spoon, but hasn't mastered the scooping action!! I have begun to hold his hand around the spoon handle and scoop up the food and help him direct it to his mouth. It is getting easier and easier...but there are still times where he won't even try to scoop it up. I think boys are a little lazy with stuff like this!!

So I wouldn't worry just yet. But if it concerns you overly...ask your child's doc about it. I think it is normal at your son's age to not have mastered the spoon/fork thing yet!!

Hope this helps!!

Hugs,

Beth
