: Hi,

: My 18 month old son does not say the word "No" but will turn his head from side to side to say NO if I ask him a question or to do something.
: He went for his 18 month checkup today and the doctor didn't seem to concerned yet. He just asked me how many words my son knows and I would say he knows at least 20 or more words.
: I know boys tend be slower with developing language skills and was wondering if any other parents out there are going through a similar situation with their sons.

I have an odd situation. Around 12 mos ds could say airplane, hotdog, grandma, he would shake his head yes and no. Well he stopped all of it. Now every so often he will babble mamma... and repeat very simple words he hears like ball. He is 19 mos. I have been worried, and he is going to evaluated very soon, since he lost some language development. I wouldn't worry too much as long as your ds knows some words. Sounds like he is doing well. Good luck! and be glad he doesn't use no too much :)
