Well, everyone has something different to say about this situation. I would always feed my newborn right before I put her to bed usually she feel asleep as she finished her bottle. So, I never really ever had a chance to lay her down while she was still half awake. When she was around one year old she got really sick and we spent a week at Childrens hospital(she was inseparable from me the whole time) and ever since then she wakes once a night and when she awakes I have tried everything to get her to go back to sleep in her crib and nothing works. I have let her cry to the point of vomiting and I said that is enough it is not worth it. SO, now when she wakes at night either myself or her Dad will go and get her and put her in the bed with us. We are all happy and we ALL get sleep. I work and need my sleep. But everyone will have a different outlook on this. I figure they are only little once and how many 18 years olds do you know that still sleep with thier parents?? When they are newborns they will awake and want to eat and I always tended to Gabrielle and she slept at least 6-8 hours at a time unless she was teething or sick and of course then they need comforting. But the last time she was sick we just never broke the habit. Hope this helps??

: I have been reading a lot on this book babywise,,, now correct me if I am wrong but is it true you are to let your newborn cry without comforting or feeding at night,,,and I am just curious how many of you have tried this and had success
