Hi Jackie, PS: also, when your excema is not bad (it goes through stages in most people), splurge on a super moisturiziong cream like Nivia or Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. Don't just ignore the problem when it's not there. Make sure that you wack the moisturizer to it, and keep it from getting too dry again!

I'm Catherine, and I'm 19. I know exactly how you feel. I have excema really bad. Mine's on my face and arms, and it leads down over my shoulders.
My doctor tried antihistamines. You know, like Claritine? he also put me on so many different lotions, I don't know half the names. But you know what I find helps the most? Cold Gel Paks. Anything cold that's not wet (I find that water irritates my excema even more). It helps to relieve the itching, which means you aren't scratching, which means that the creams get a chance to work instead of being scratched off. Just an idea.
Also, ask your doctor for allergy tests. My aunt had horrible excema (worst I have ever seen) on her hands, and she could not understand why. Finally, she got allergy tests done, and she found out she was allergic to latex--and she was a nurse! she wore latex gloves every day! You might be allergic to something as common as polyester. So, you could try that.
Best of Luck!
