Lana, My husband and I are a bit baffled by all of the controversy surrounding Babywise. We didn't interpret it to mean only following a strict schedule or letting a baby cry in hunger. In fact, it echoes a lot of what the nurses told me when I was still in the hospital. Anyway, our situation is further complicated by the fact that we are also trying to get our four week old to sleep in her crib in the next room rather than in bed with me. I brought her into bed a couple of weeks ago when i got strep throat and needed as much rest as possible, then my husband moved to the couch and I was still run down... it is a very difficult transition for her and I am only glad we are doing this sooner rather than later. I am also trying to get her to feed every 2-3 hours instead of her usual habitual snacking. I used to offer her the breast everytime she squirmed, now it is a relief to my husband and myself to see that she can be comforted in other ways when she is not really hungry. Anyway, I wanted to know how you were progressing with your baby... we need all of the support we can get with such an emotionally charged issue. thanks, Sara
