My husband and I struggled for the first 6 weeks or so, trying to put our baby girl on the Babywise routine. It was not easy, and we often "started over" several times per day, because I insisted that we remain flexible and respond to her needs. Apparently, the flexible framework we created was right on target, because at 12 weeks she is sleeping solidly through the night from 10 PM to 9 AM. She is taking good naps and is happy, healthy, and content. If you are trying the Babywise Method, I encourage you to keep at it, but remain flexible. If your baby is hungry, feed her! If your baby needs you, hold her! Just be aware of when and how much you are feeding, trying to stretch times when you can. Eventually, the child will respond to this structure, get good, solid sleep, and wake up happy and content.
