Overtired and Sleeping Through Night

My 5 1/2 month old has been sleeping through the night for 2 months. Several nights in a row now, she has woken up during the night (sometimes twice). Normally, she goes to bed between 9 and 10 p.m. and then sleeps until around 6:30 a.m. Could she be going through a growth spurt (she's breastfed)?

Also, sometimes when it's time to go to bed, she will scream for an hour or more before we can get her to go to sleep. Our pediatrician says she's perfectly healthy and too old to be colicky. Is she overtired? During the day, she is normally awake for 2 hours and then naps anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours at a stretch. How can we calm her down when she's screaming and nothing we do seems to work?
