The person "Kristin" who answered that you should not let the baby cry it out is sadly mistaken. Experts solidly agree that babies should be left alone to sleep from the age of four months. Letting them cry is fine; it is not the same as making them cry. The first achievement in maturity is to be comfortable alone, and this should occur when the baby is between 4 and 12 months. Babies that are always comforted and sleep with the parents do not develop a sense of security. It is terrible to prevent a child from becoming secure. Kristin's philosophy is wrong. I feel sorry for her daughter.
