You ask whether anyone did their research about Ferber? From your reply, it is obvious you have not done yours. Having actually read his book, I can tell you he certainly does not advocate leaving your child to cry in the night. You will ALWAYS respond to your child - just not instantaneously. You wait for intervals, but always go in to check on them. I have found no evidence that Ferber recanted his method later on - please provide your source?
