Another NonSleeping Child

Here's my problem: my fourteen month old daughter does not sleep. Not only will she not go to sleep but once asleep she doesn't stay asleep for more than about two hours. Then she's up for an hour and then back out for two. This has gone on for months. I keep here very busy throughout the day, she doesn't have a long or a late nap. She isn't hungry when she wakes up (We've tried to feed her and she doesn't want it) and she doesn't usually seem cranky when she wakes up, it's more that she wants to go be busy. I've talked to doctors about this and they don't have any answers for me. I am at the end of my rope. Oh, for more info, she will not go in her bed, sleeps in a pack and play in our room and sometimes our bed. We tried the Ferber method, where you put the child to bed awake and then go back and comfort the child at specific intervals but she screamed so hard that she threw up, several times. I can't take that for hours. Any ideas?
