Toddler Bed Woes

HI everyone! MY 17 month old has been crawling out of his crib for the last week. He wouldn't stay in it for 5 minutes. So last night we got a toddler bed. He loves to sit on it, play on it, stand on it, get dressed, and changed on it, but, no matter what we do, he won't sleep on it. We put him in bed put up the gate, and left him, and he creid for a short amount of time. When I went to check on him, he was sleeping on the floor! I picked him up, put him on the bed, and around 3 AM he woke up, I waited a few minutes, and when all was quiet, checked on him again. Once again he was sleeping on the floor. I didn't have time to transition him into the toddler bed. I didn't think he would get out of his crib already. Any suggestions on how to make this easier for him? How long does it last? Will he ever sleep on it? Please help. Take Care. Good LUck -----------------Jamie
