My daughter is heading onto 3 months, and started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks. Before that she was waking up every 1-2 hours during the night.

The key to sleeping through is establishing a nighttime routine. Bath your baby at the same time each night. Try to feed them at the same time as well. Try to cluster feed in the evening, so you know they've had enough. Maddison always eats as much as she wants during the day, this seemed to help as well! If she wants a feed every 45 minutes, she gets it. I never try to stretch them out.

Make sure that the last feed and change for the night is really quiet and calm. Don't play with your baby If you can, dim the lights. Play soft music if your baby likes that.

When your baby wakes up during the night, don't play with them! Don't make eye contact, don't talk and don't cuddle them. Just change them and feed them as quickly and quietly as possible, then put them back to bed. This lets them know that you don't need them during the night. Maddison got fussy the first few nights of this, but after about a week she went straight back to sleep if she woke up during the night. She didn't need a feed, it was just habit waking her up. Generally once a baby reaches 12lbs, they start sleeping longer. But every baby's different!

Good luck, let us know how it goes!
