My son just turned 3 months and was an extremely gassy baby. I got rid of the 'trigger' foods from my diet and he was still gassy. Then i did some research on the internet and found that it could be something to do with my milk supply. In women who have an abundant supply of milk, babies can sometimes get an inbalance of foremilk wich is the milk that comes out first. This can cause gassy fussy babies. Their recommendation was to only give one breast at a feeding and let him really drain it. some babies get lots of milk on one breast and then the other breast they get lots of foremilk and then stop feeding because they are full.

I'll see if i can find the link and post it for you so you can get a more in depth view on it. Try your local la leche league they may have some information for you.
I have tryed him on one breast since about 2 months of age and have noticed a 150 % improvement. He is a far happier little guy. He is gaining well and is well satisfied without the gas. I'm lucky I have a good milk supply.
Check with your doctor as well before trying anything too drastic.
