Steve,
Believe me I know you're tired of hearing we all sympathize w/you and you're looking for answers, unfortunately, from my experience, there were none other than what I already posted below. The teething tablets did not work for me, nor orajel, nor motrin/tylenol, etc. The best I could get was rubbing gums w/my finger, and like Rowena said it is very hard to predict teeth eruption. My son has had an abcess on the bottom gum now and a bump for over 2 months, still no tooth, and the pediatrician says that's what it is.

ANOTHER THOUGHT, teething can frequently cause ear pain due to nerve involvement/pressure in the face. Ears always hurt worse at night and upon laying down and she might be more aware of it during quiet times. Did you ever try and put her to sleep upright in her car/infant seat? Put the seat in the crib so she wont get used to not being in her room. It's worth a shot, and have known people who have done it and it's worked. Have you tried Tylenol, also worth a shot, sometimes trying another pain med works if she's gotten used to the Motrin. Your thoughts?

: Talk to me about your teething baby. I can only assume that's what we're dealing with right now and it's utter hell. Hannah has never been a good sleeper but she generally woke up a couple of times a night. Once I helped her back down and once was for a feeding. For the last three nights she hasn't been able to stay asleep for more than an hour to an hour and 15 before she wakes up screaming bloody murder. I have been able to help her back to sleep a couple of times with the pacifier and maybe some of our herbal junk, but that lasts no more than a half hour and she's back screaming again. She's taking Motrin every night and Oragel doesn't do anything but irritate her. The only true solution that allows us to sleep is if my wife nurses her down and keeps her in bed with us. I don't like this solution and never sleep well with a little person in the bed. I just don't relax all night.

: Is this normal at all? The pediatrician said she definitely has teeth coming "soon". At the last appointment (1.5 weeks ago) he said we could see teeth as early as two weeks. So, if he's right we should be reaching that time soon.
