We thought we had the perfect child when we brought her home from the hospital..she slept through the night by the 4th month, no colic, teething was a breeze..yet,in the months following her first birthday (she is 21 months now), she will barely sleep at all..no naps during the day, she goes to be at 9PM, she will be up and ready for action at 2AM, it takes until at least 5AM before she nods off for mabey another 2 hours tops, we have read different books and consulted doctors and other parents, we have tried sleep training, NOTHING WORKS, my wife and I are on the verge of killing each other because we are so sleep deprived that the smallest thing provoked a full on fight, we are starting to take our frustration out on our daughter by yelling at her, and everyone we know refuses to take her overnight just to give us a break...the doctor says she might be hyper-active..but I just can't imagine a growing baby having that much energy on only a few hours of sleep..has anyone else had this problem? cause we are at the point where we are desperate.
