: Hi folks. My 6 month old daughter just recently started spending a couple of days a week at a sitter's,since then she has had trouble sleeping in her crib and only will sleep when cuddled.I think she is also cutting a couple of new teeth as well.Is there a connection,I can't cuddle her all night every night,I need sleep too! If you are the same Peter with the bottle/teething question, part of the problem could be that she is not getting enough formula during the day because it hurts to suck. That can keep her up at night. One thing to try is giving her a dose of tylenol before bed. If it is teething that will help. Ask your doctor how much you should use. My doctor told me it was okay to use the tylenol occassionally. You can also use it or something cold to numb her gums before you feed her that might make the bottle easier to take or use a cup to give her the formula. Make sure she doesn't have an ear infection. If her sleeplessness carries over to nap times too, if she is pulling at her ears, and if she has trouble taking the bottle call your doctor right away. Ear infections are not life threatening but can become serious if ignored. By the way tylenol eases the pain of those ear infections too, so be sure it isn't an ear infection before you dose her. She will quite down and you might forget about it because once the ear drum bursts the pain goes away and she won't show the symptoms anymore.
