Hi I'm new to this board but see that you answer many sleep association questions and I like your approach. I'd like to ask you a question regardign some advice that I have been given by my daughters pediatrician. My pediatrician recommends that I put my 17 week old daughter to bed and let her cry it out. He says that she should be sleeping 8 to 10 hours a night and should be sleeping through the night. He says that by allowing baby to sleep with me and be nursed to sleep I am creating BIG problems and an insecure baby later in life. He says the first night the baby could cry for 4 hours and I should just leave her and within a few days she'll be happilly sleeping and having learned to fall asleep and soothe herself. He also says that my daughter doesn't need the middle of the night feed she has been getting and its only a comfort feed. Does this sound like good advice to you? Should I maybe seek another pediatrician?
