Doctors can do a test to see or when they spit up it will burn their throat and they will scream out in pain. My daughter only spits up a little bit when it's the kind that hurts her throat. I was told if your childs a preemie they will most likely spit up. Good luck-some will eventually grow out of it. I think my daughter is starting to.
