Signs of food allergy (or intollerance):

*Stuffiness / Cold-like symptoms without feaver
*Sandpaper-like rash on face, arms, legs
*Target / Red Ring rash around anus
*Frequent, off color / texture stools (mucusy, green, runny)
*Frequent spitup
*Fussiness, especially while eating
*Colicky behavior

Try a Hypoalergenic formula to see if symptoms subside. Keep in mind that Allumentium and Nutramigen do contain animal and soy proteins, although they are "pre-digested". Neocate contains no animal or soy protiens, but it is expesive and hard to find and you need a Drs reccomendation to order from the manufacturer (SHS). See their website at www.shsna.com.

My daughter was originally diagnosed with reflux, which she did have but it was caused by protein intollerance. We manage it through diet, and she is not on any medications (and very infrequently spits up now). But, that's my kid, and every kid is different.

Best of luck!
Marybeth
