My son was spitting up a lot when he was breastfeeding too. I was told by the nurse to keep him upright for 20-30 minutes after nursing to let gravity help the intake go down! I know...20-30 minutes is a long time! I usually hold him upright for about 15 minutes and it really seemed to help with the spitting up!!

I don't think it would hurt to call your doc to make sure, though!
