We are going through the very same thing. Our son, who just turned 1, has yet to sleep through the night. First he would wake every 3 hours for a feeding. Then it improved to only 1-2 times a night. But once his molars started to come in, he was up almost all night for 2-3 days. His teething has subsided since then(or so it seems) but he's still in the same routine. That is, waking more than several times a night & not just to feed. My wife & I are at the same point as you Amy, at each others throats in the middle of the night. I'm sorry that I don't have any answers for you but I needed to vent & maybe someone out there has a solution for both of us. Good luck!!

: : We thought we had the perfect child when we brought her home from the hospital..she slept through the night by the 4th month, no colic, teething was a breeze..yet,in the months following her first birthday (she is 21 months now), she will barely sleep at all..no naps during the day, she goes to be at 9PM, she will be up and ready for action at 2AM, it takes until at least 5AM before she nods off for mabey another 2 hours tops, we have read different books and consulted doctors and other parents, we have tried sleep training, NOTHING WORKS, my wife and I are on the verge of killing each other because we are so sleep deprived that the smallest thing provoked a full on fight, we are starting to take our frustration out on our daughter by yelling at her, and everyone we know refuses to take her overnight just to give us a break...the doctor says she might be hyper-active..but I just can't imagine a growing baby having that much energy on only a few hours of sleep..has anyone else had this problem? cause we are at the point where we are desperate.
: HELLO, I KNOW THAT YOU MUST BE TERRIBLY FRUSTRATED AND AT YOUR WITS END. LET ME ASK YOU A FEW QUESTIONS; DID YOU BOTTLE FEED OR BREASTFEED? WHEN DID YOU INTRODUCE TABLE FOOD? WAS IT AROUND A YEAR OLD? I ASK BECAUSE, MY SON HAS MILK ALLERGIES AND WE FOUND OUT EARLY ON SO I AVOIDED DAIRY WHEN I NURSED. I DISCOVERED LATER ON WHEN HE WAS ABOUT 14 MONTHS OLD THAT IF HE CONSUMED DAIRY HE WOULD WAKE UP IN THE NIGHT FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THAT IS ONE THOUGHT. THE OTHER THING IS THAY YOUR DAUGHTER MAY NOW BE AT THE POINT OF BEING USED TO BEING ENTERTAINED IN THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING. THEN SHE HAS DEVLOPED A HABIT THAT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED. HAVE YOU READ OR HEARD OF THE BOOK CALLED THE BABY WHISPERER, BY TRACY HOGG? SHE HAS SOME VERY GOOD PRACTICAL ADVICE ON HOW TO HELP YOUR CHILD SLEEP THRU THE NIGHT. I CHECKED IT OUT FROM THE LIBRARY TO MAKE SURE THAT I WOULD LIKE IT BEFORE I WENT TO PURCHASE THE BOOK. I HOPE THAT THIS MIGHT HELP. KEEP ME POSTED. AMY
