Steve, 15 - 20 minutes is GREAT. Some kids will go on for over an hour. Of course, all of this came at a time when you were both exhausted and unprepared, so it probably seemed like an eternity.

Just want to point out that you did not abandon her. You were responding to her. You were just responding differntly. You could have even stayed in her room, if that would have been more comfortable for you.

Bottom line - If you truly beleive that you are helping her in the long run, that thought goes a long way to giving you the strength to continue. But, you have to be operating at a level that is comfortable for you. If you aren't comfortable with making these changes, then you shouldn't, or feel presured to in any way. It's such a personal choice.
