I don't understand why your doc said that!

My son was 19 pounds and 27 1/4 inches long at his 4 month check up and he was a few days shy of actually being 4 months old. Your child is close to my son's weight and height. Your child is a little shorter, but also weighs a pound less than mine did. My doctor said that since my son was over the 95th percentile for both, that he balanced out!! I wouldn't worry too much that your child is overweight. He sounds just fine to me!! But I am not a doctor! You may feel that what your doc says is set in stone, but I tend to feel that a mother's intuition is better!! Now I am getting on my "high horse!" LOL!!

At this age, everything I have read says that they should be eating 24-32 ounces of formula/breast milk each day...so it doesn't sound like you are over feeding him!! I say, just as my doctor told me about my son, "He is just a big boy!!" You may have a football player on your hands!! That is what everyone tells me!!

Hugs,

Beth
