First of all, I have to say I agree with Steve regarding taking the baby to the doctors or even to the local ER, they cant deny you treatment without an insurance card. Secondly, 102.4 Axillary is 103.4 rectally (which is what you should really be using)....that, although it may seem high, is not condidered to high in a child that age. My son who is 12 months old just hit high 104's w/lots of green nasal discharge and an ear infection. HOWEVER, this is not your child to make that determination. Sorry to have to say this, but what kind of parent leaves their child with someone else without a number to call in case of emergency....even if it is another family member, especially someone who knows nothing about kids????? Only my opinion.

: Pleasw help. I am watching my friends 14 month old for this weekend, and she has a little cold, but she just woke up from a nap and is burning up. I took her temp under the arm and it says 102.6.....i heard u ass a degree for under the arm tempss....i can't ge ahold o my friend...i don't hav kids.....what do i do??? please help me with some advice! thx
