Hi! My son is 9 weeks old, so close to yours. He is now on a four hour schedule, but up until week seven, he fed every 3- 3 1/2 hours or so. I find that after he eats, he can stay up anywhere from 45 minutes to two hours before he needs a nap. As soon as I see him yawning, I put him down in the crib for a nap. True to form for sleeping, it takes him about 25 minutes to actually fall asleep, but he does so on his own without crying. I suggest getting the book Secrets of the Baby Whisperer. It has great advice and common sense for us first time moms. That book helped me to get my son on a schedule and to understand what he needed when. Good luck!
