Hello Ladies, : : Our daughter is 5 months old and our peds told us to start her on cereal- well that just won't fly- she was screaming, gassy and cramping with diarhea. Are there any suggestions as to what foods to start with? I have heard to try vegetables first and have tried to find something on the net- but my time is limited. And the peds once again is not listening to me- no longer our peds. Please let me know what worked for you. Thanks! : As far as I have heard it is best to start with yellow/orange veggies. Like carrots, squash, sweet potatoes. Veggies are best first to avoid a sweet tooth. Best fruit is pears, really easy on the stomach. We had the same trouble with cereal a couple weeks ago, and I am too scared to try again. The trouble was he loved eating it, but after he was miserable. We need to find something soon though, he is so interested in food. Good luck. : PS Let me know if you find something that works cereal wise. Thanks

I also went through this with my son. The problem was that the cereal I was giving him...Gerber, had MILK AND SOY protein in it....I never checked the ingredients. It took me a visit to the ped. office to find out that they only make 2 (that she knew of) types of cereal w/no soy or milk protein in it....BEECHNUT, (it says it on the front of the box and it's got I think a bear on the front) and if you want/need I can get the other name for you. I changed to Beechnut....problem solved for me. Good Luck!
