Hey Tracy! It is frustrating, isn't it? We've had the same challenges with introducing new foods, and we aren't quite as far along in this area as you are. Foods that should be harmless (apples, squash, etc...) just make Alexandra misserable. And she is so anxious to try anything new, and also looks longingly when we eat. The other night my husband wanted to give her some cooked elbow maccaroni to munch on, and I had to stop him and remind him to read the ingredients label first. And, of course, she couldn't have it. He was so huffy. I'm used to reading labels & paying attention to this stuff, as I B.F. for 6 months and had to do the diet, but he has no clue and needs constant reminders (and convincing). I feel like the food police! I've talked to a few Moms who have kids that have been through this. MSPI kids all seem to have slow to develop digestive systems, and it's not uncommon that they react to fruits, juices, etc... The good news is that all of the Moms that I have talked to have told me that their kids have outgrown it by 2 years of age. But, it's a hard few years. So, I'm glad that we can share information and commisserate together! Have a fun B'Day party for Jacob! Tell me how the cake comes out. I'll be making the very same recipie come May 12! MB
