I just had to post about what a great time I had today with my daughter. She can be quite a handful sometimes, so when you get a wonderful day with her like the one I had today, you remember just what a cool little girl she is. My wife had to go to work for a few hours this afternoon, and I had Hannah all to myself. It's been kind of upsetting with her lately. She's gotten into a pattern where she's in a good mood all day until about 5 or 5:30pm and then is cranky until bedtime. Well, I get home at 5:30. As a result I don't really get to see her in a good mood, which obviously sucks. Today made up for it. We jumped into my truck and went for a drive up to the mall to do Christmas shopping. She was an angel for the trip. She thrives in crowds and will actually sit still and watch everyone while we're walking around. After shopping for a bit, we went home and I fed her lunch (prunes from a jar and a bit of formula afterward, all of which she gobbled up like a champ) and then played on the floor for a long time. She's starting to do a pseudo-crawl that's much like a scoot. She was scooting around all over the place laughing and smiling and having a great time. I don't see many smiles during the week! After playing for about a half hour to an hour, I gave her a bath. She LOVES her baths so they're obviously a lot of fun. She likes to splash around and chase her rubber duck. After the bath, I got her dressed for the get-together we were going to when my wife got home. While waiting for her to get home we read a couple of books while rocking in the living room. Hannah rarely sits still for stuff like that so when she does it's quite a treat. By the time my wife got home both father and daughter were all smiles. I sometimes get nervous about taking care of her alone, but today was awesome. She and I are planning to sit and watch football tomorrow and I can't wait. Sorry to be schmaltzy .. I just had a great day today.
