Hi! I was also worried about this for the longest time. But you really shouldn't. Your baby is growing a lot right now. He needs his rest. (I'm telling you what everyone told me, and what I am beginning to notice in the last month or so.) My son is 4.5 months old and he still takes a nap every 1.5-2 hours. In the morning he goes 1.5 and in the afternoon he goes 2 hours. He also goes to bed at 7 in the evening (I wake him between 9 and 10 for a late feeding) and he sleeps until 5:30 when I wake him for morning breakfast. So just b/c he takes a lot of naps doesn't mean he won't sleep at night. In fact, regular naps improve nighttime sleeping. Out of curiosity, is your baby sleeping through the night yet? Or most of the night? Aimee : thanks!!!

: hi all,
: just curious - when did your children begin to be more alert or awake during the daytime hours? my 9week old is still resisting his awake time during the day. i have tried (what i think) is everything..we read, we look out the windows, we have tummy-time, we watch the babyeinstein videos etc... but i can't seem to keep him awake for more that an about 1.5 hrs after he eats...but that is only because i am pestering him to death!!! if i go to run errands or go to the mall, forget it- he is out like a light in the car and in the stroller. (he does sleep well at night..getting up only once around 3-4am and for the past 2 nights slept from 10pm-7am)
: i guess i am just wondering when he will begin to be curious enough discover the world on his own? (does that make any sense?)
