Hi Steve, I wouldn't cut out her night feeding. Babies know when they have had enough or are still hungry. If Hannah is nursed, she will naturally eat more often than botle fed babies as they do not get the same volume of milk per feeding. She sounds small, but then again I gave birth to toddlers, lol. My oldest was 9lbs 13 oz, and 24 inches long at birth - OUCH ! She does sound small though and I would not worry about the night feeding putting excess weight on her. I know it is hard to get up in the night so much but she will know when she is ready to stop the night feedings. http://www.lalecheleague.org/ Take care and I hope everything works out well. It is nice to see a doting father for a change. I am so used to seeing deadbeats. Lori K

Some doctors/nurses suggest giving the child water at night to stop the night feedings. Have you tried that?
My 2 youngest (ages 5 and 2 1/2) still wake up at night. I think it is more of a security thing for them though (they don't eat then). As soon as I go in and let them know I am here and am not going anywhere, they settle down.
Call a parent support group and ask them what they think. I am not sure where you are but I know there are a lot of good ones out there. You could even try LaLeche for help.
